ABOUT ROOM 9 ENTERTAINMENT

David Sacks Image Room 9 Entertainment LLC is an independent film production company formed in 2003 by serial entrepreneur David Sacks, who was the original Chief Operating Officer and product leader of PayPal, which he helped lead to a $1.5 billion acquisition by eBay in 2002. Sacks also founded internet companies Geni.com, the world family tree, and Yammer.com, the enterprise social network. Room 9 produced and financed the feature film THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, based on Christopher Buckley's best-selling novel. Fox Searchlight acquired and released the film in March 2006. The film grossed approximately $35 million at the box office. Subsequently, THANK YOU FOR SMOKING was nominated for Best Picture in the comedy category at the 2006 Golden Globes.

While developing feature and television projects, Room 9 has most recently participated in Mark Goffman's feature length documentary, DUMBSTRUCK, which will have a theatrical release across the United States beginning in the Spring of 2011. Magnolia Pictures (Man on Wire, Food, Inc.) acquired and will release the film.
